Description
|
This standard applies to electromagnetic and capacitor voltage transformers (hereinafter referred to as transformers) designed for operation in electric ac (alternating current) circuits with frequency of 50 or 60 Hz under nominal voltage of 0.38 to 750 kV inclusive. Their purpose is to transfer signals of metering information to measuring instruments, to protectors, and to automatic, alarm and control devices. Additional requirements for separate types of transformers are established in standards, technical specifications, agreements and contracts (hereinafter referred to as standards) developed for transformers of the given types in connection with specificity of their design or purpose (for example, for antiresonance transformers designed for installation in complete distribution devices (CDD) and for phase-screened conductors). This standard does not apply to laboratory transformers. |
