Product sampling rules for conformity assessment

The Russian national standard GOST R 58972-2020 “Conformity assessment. General rules for sampling for testing products for confirmation of conformity" was adopted, which comes into force on January 1, 2021.
The new standard establishes general rules for the selection of product samples and their use conformity assessment in the forms of certification and declaration of conformity.
GOST R 58972-2020 is intended for applicants, certification bodies and testing laboratories involved in conformity assessment work, as well as other interested parties.
Regulatory legal acts or standardization documents developed for the purpose of confirming assessment of a specific type of product may establish a different or specified procedure for sampling, different from the procedure provided for by this standard.
