New requirements for environmental standards

The Russian national standard GOST R 59133-2020 “Environmental protection. General requirements for setting standards" will enter into force from April 1, 2021.
The purpose of this standard it to establish general requirements for setting standards in the field of environmental protection, the main of which is to increase the level of protection of the environment, objects of the animal, flora and other natural resources.
The new standard is intended for enterprises, organizations and associations of enterprises, incl. unions, associations, concerns, joint-stock companies, intersectoral, regional and other associations, regardless of the form of ownership and departmental subordination, when making decisions by the competent authorities in the field of environmental regulation.
