Description
|
Visual inspection of basic materials shall be carried out to reveal surface cracks, laminations, laps, unacceptable handling marks, cavities, shells, slag inclusions and other discontinuities. 1.2. Visual inspection of welded joints shall be carried out in order to detect surface cracks, lack of penetration, laminations, burns-through, blowholes, rolls, shrink holes and metal spatters, unacceptable undercuts, surface inclusions and clusters. 1.3. Dimensional inspection of semi-finished products shall be performed to check the compliance of their geometrical dimensions (assortment) with the requirements of standards or technical specification for certain semi-finished products, as well as acceptability of dimensions determined during visual inspection of surface handling marks, cavities, slag inclusions and other discontinuities in pursuance to the standard values of standards or technical specification. 1.4. Dimensional inspection of parts and assembly units shall be conducted to check the compliance of their geometric dimensions, as well as acceptability of the dimensions determined during visual inspection of surface discontinuities of the base metal in accordance with the requirements of the design documentation. |
